About me

!kepmas-com_030316_033I began my music education by playing the piano at a local music school. At a music-education centered High School, I studied composing and music theory. I graduated college as a Singing Soloist Artist Tutor at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Debrecen, and as a student of Eva Szerdahelyi-Raics, I have received a Music Educator Master’s Diploma. During my college studies I sang at the local Csokonai Theater.

Besides teaching at the college, I have been performing a wide variety of music, for example oratorio, cantatas, classical romantic and contemporary composers creations. My repertoire also includes many opera and operetta roles. I have participated in many Hungarian and world-wide premieres and premiere of music pieces. I was a permanent soloist for the Szombathely Symphony Orchestra for a decade and I toured with other noted orchestras, as well.

I have made appearances in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Russia, France, Belgium, Finland, Sweden, United Kingdom and the Far East.

  • I was a soloist of many oratorios at the International Mozart Symposium in Graz, Austria in the year of Mozart (1991).
  • I was a soloist for the Ensemble Baroque de Savaria in France at the Prieure de St-Julieb-d’ Olargues Baroque Festival in 1993.
  • From 1998 I have been periodically invited to appear as a soloist for different leading orchestras to recitals and concert tours in the Far East. Besides appearances in all major cities of South Korea, I toured with the Austrian Vienna Walzer Orchestra in Hong Kong in 1999.
  • I have toured the major cities of China with the J. Strauss Orchestra yearly since 2002. I was the soloist of the Vienna Mozart Soloists Orchestra in 2003 and I sang with the Wiener J. Strauss Walzer Orchestra in 2004.
  • Since 2009, I have been also working as a professional advisor for musial pieces at the Hevesi Sándor Theater in Zalaegerszeg as well as singing in various roles.

I conduct continued education courses for music teachers in Hungary and courses for soloists in Europe and overseas. My students are successful in competitions. Many of them work as a soloist or part of a choir all around the world – from Hungary to New Zealand.

I received a For Music and Sports Award from the University of Western Hungary in 2005 in recognition of my work in music education. As part of my work I participate in the Socrates-Erasmus Project, in which we organize professional cooperation between Hungarian universities and other foreign universities and also make teachers and students exchange programs possible.

My research field is contemporary music, especially American song literature which I am popularizing in my home country. I participated in many conferences over the course of my career:

  • In 2000, I was the first Hungarian who had been invited to the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
  • In 2001, in Helsinki, Finland I represented Hungary at the International Congress of Voice Teachers (ICVT) which is held in every four year.
  • In 2002 and 2003, I was invited to the Princeton Westminster Choir College of Rider University Master Teachers and Singers Week, which is held during summer every year.
  • In 2004, I participated in the Federation of German Music Teachers (Bundesverband Deutscher Gesangspedagogen) meeting in Halle, Germany.
  • In 2005, I represented Hungary in Vancouver, Canada on the International Congress of Voice Teachers (ICVT) where I was admitted as a first Hungarian member.
  • Mainly because of my continuous work, Hungary joined in to the European Voice Teachers Association (EVTA).
